Inspired by Piet Oudolf Gardens at the Battery, The Bowman Root necklace celebrate the beauty and endurance of this delicate white flower that blooms in the spring and summer. Known to attract butterflies and and other natural insects, Gillenia trifoliata continues to turn heads in the fall with red foliage and shapely roots.

Janet has interpreted its many phases within one necklace and created two styles of earrings to complete the collection.

The Battery Bowman Root Earrings are the perfect length. Long enough to turn head, but not so long to be annoying. Wear them and see what you attract- we imagine more than butterflies. Piet Oudolf is considered the Father of New Perennial, a movement that takes an almost architectural approach to gardens with plants’ structure, patterns, and placement essential to the design. Oudolf also designed High Line’s gardens.

, where the Dutch landed in the 17th century to establish New Amsterdam, is one of the oldest parks in continuous use in New York City. In 1855, immigrants arrived in the park at the depot known as Castle Garden (today Castle Clinton National Monument).

The common name for Bowman’s Root is Indian Physic because of its ability to cleanse the system by inducing vomiting.
